Internet access

High-speed Internet is available throughout T1, both wired and wirelessly. The entire airport is a Wi-Fi zone, and minutes must be purchased from vending machines throughout the terminal. You can find these at two places in the Mezzanine (near O’Brien’s Sandwich Bar and beside the Food Hall), at two locations in the Departures area (by the pharmacy and near Check-in Area 1) and in three places around the departure gates. There is also a machine near the shoe-shining station after security.

To access the Internet wirelessly, search for the ‘Eircom’ network, open your Web browser and enter the login details you received from the top-up machine.

Dedicated internet kiosks are also on hand in T1. Landside kiosks in the Arrivals Hall, Departures Hall and Mezzanine all have printing facilities. Three more are located past security. The kiosks are coin-operated and charge 11.5 cents per minute.

Family Facilities

Travelling with children can be a challenge, especially when looking for places to eat and pass time in an airport. Luckily, Dublin Airport Terminal 1 is fully equipped with family-friendly facilities.

Restaurants with children’s menus are found on both sides of the security checkpoint. The Food Hall, the Brasserie, McDonalds and Burger King all have kid-friendly options.

Baby changing stations are also scattered conveniently throughout the terminal. There are seven stations in addition to those found near the toilets.

If the kids are getting restless and you have some time to spare, head to Dr Quirkey’s Emporium, where children’s facilities and activities are on offer. The emporium is in The Loop directly after the security screening point and can be a welcome sight after queuing for the screening.

Banking Facilities

Terminal 1 has a Bank of Ireland branch open from Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 16:00. It stays open an hour later on Wednesdays and is located in Departures Area 1.

There are also several International Currency Exchange (ICE) stations in T1. There are four in all, situated at key points such that one is always nearby. You’ll also find ATMs dispensing euros situated throughout the terminal on both sides of security. Most of these are Bank of Ireland ATMs, with the exception of one Allied Irish Banks (AIB) ATM in the T1 short-term car park.

Toilets

Toilets are located across T1. They are clearly marked with blue signs indicating facilities for ladies and gentlemen. They are also accessible to disabled persons. All offer baby-changing facilities as well. Restrooms are tidy and orderly, maintained by airport staff on an hourly basis.
